It’s that wonderful time of the year again. The leaves are turning red and yellow, it is getting cozier in everyone’s homes and the 1st Controlling Report of the WS 2023/24 is here. With this blogpost, we will provide you with insights into our work in the Accounting department and give you a small overview of our revenues, expenses, and EBIT as well as Profit/Loss.
Turnover and Expenses
At the beginning of 2023, it was decided that due to sustainability reasons, our flyers get sent out to fewer schools by postal mail. This directly led to a decrease in sales compared with October last year. Where in October 2022, eXpand International Consultancy GmbH achieved sales of around € 63.500,-, eXpand International Consultancy GmbH was only able to generate sales of around € 28.860,- in October 2023. The turnover in October was solely generated through consulting services because eXpand International Consultancy GmbH cut the market analysis from its product portfolio. Personnel expenses made up 36 % of our total expenses with € 5.855,33 , taxes from income and from earnings made up 15 % of our total expenses with € 2.383,-, and our other expenses made up 49 % of our total expenses with € 7.950,-.
EBIT and Profit/Loss
Looking at October, eXpand International Consultancy GmbH had an overall EBIT of + € 15.055,- which we are happy to announce. What stood out were the missing marketing expenses, which we will focus on beginning in November. Even though October was a good overall month, 2023 as a whole does not look that bright. Our EBIT lays at - € 21.364,- for 2023. Looking at the Profit and Loss, we see that the expenses from interest and taxes even push our Loss to - € 30.987,-.
Despite the loss, we are confident that we will make a profit by the end of 2023. Looking at the merger, we are also confident that eXpand and KFUNIline can use their synergies to generate profits the year after.
