Teachers of vocational subjects
In the mid-1990s the training of vocational teacher was reformed. Since then teachers at the secondary level must have completed either a bachelor's or master's degree in their field. An educational trainingto the extent of 60 ECTS credits is also required./typo3/
In Finland the term business education and development is generally connected to vocational education. Teacher in vocational education need a university degree in the subject field and must have at least three years’ work experience in a field compatible within the teaching area./typo3/ The required pedagogical study,/typo3/ can be completed either prior to entry into the teaching profession or via distance learning during the teaching./typo3/
Vocational Teachers’ Programme
The university-programme is offered in five different Universities in Finland. The programme comprises 60 credit points. It includes 25 credit points of basic studies in pedagogy, which can be replaced by previous academic studies on education. The programme can be completed in usually one and a half years./typo3/
Teachers at the University
Teachers at the University generally have a doctorate or other postgraduate degree. /typo3/Educational qualifications are not necessary, but more and more universities require this./typo3/
