Understanding

To become a teacher at the Upper Secondary Commercial School you must have passed the pedagogical examination after you have passed your master degree of business or economics. When you have passed your candidate or master degree, usually after 5 years, you must also pass the pedagogical examination. In order to achieve the pedagogical examination the candidate must attend a pedagogical course in the Faroe Islands and pass the theoretical examination in the Faroe Islands. This is a part time study over 1 year. For the practical teaching part the candidate will be sent to Denmark for 10 weeks. If the canditate's language is Faroese, the practical teaching part is in the Faroe Islands.
